the young company: Winter Shows 2009
This winter, the young company returns to New York City with two classic musicals by one of the greatest American composers: Leonard Bernstein!
Auditions:
December 1st & 2nd
4:00 - 5:30pm: act 1
5:30 - 9:00pm: act 2 & act 3
Our act 1 and act 2 musical, Wonderful Town, with lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, follows two sisters, different as night and day, as they move from "Ohio" to "Christopher Street" in the jazzy, swinging Greenich Village of the 1930s.
Our act 2 and act 3 musical, West Side Story, with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, takes place further uptown as two teens struggle to find a place "Somewhere" for their love, against the backdrop of gang violence between the Jets and the Sharks, in this classic reinterpretation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
Auditions for both shows will be Monday, December 1st and Tuesday, December 2nd from 4:00-9:00pm. We will also be holding optional audition-how-to workshops from 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 25th.
